Sudden Heat: 1 (Love by Fire) by Denise Agnew rocks. Melanie and her friends decide to get a last minute gift for her friend that is getting married. She literally runs into the best man Matt at the mall.  She has not been able to get him out of her mind ever since meeting him the weekend before.  But they
are both forced to take cover when violence erupts in the mall and they are forced to take cover.

I loved SUDDEN HEAT.  I am glad that there is a 1 in the title because that means there will be more. Melanie has issues about men in the military and Matt is career Marine.  The love scenes between Matt and Melanie will have you going for some fudge. The emotions that Ms Agnew creates will have you inwardly screaming for them to settle their differences.

One thing that I loved is the fact that it takes place during the Thanksgiving holiday. I have read holiday romances before but very few are centered around Thanksgiving. I am going to definitely reread this again while waiting for my turkey to cook.

Book one in the Love Under Fire series.

Where do you yearn to be in the face of danger? In the arms of a man bound to serve, to protect and to love…

Librarian Melanie Falconer knows too well the horrors of war. Military men, as far as she’s concerned, are off the marriage menu. As maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding, she makes a mall run and lands straight into the arms of seriously hot marine Matt Frasier, the best man.

Matt has seen too much violence, and his heavy attraction to Melanie promises to soothe his soul and set his body on fire. But when gunfire erupts, the game is on, and Melanie and Matt fight for their lives—and the heat exploding between them.

Inside Scoop: The couples in the Love Under Fire series find love through the crucible of a mall shooting event.
