Review: Bonds of Blood
by Honor James
Xandra Ripley lead a life of terror from her father. When he announces to her that he has arranged for her to be married to one of his friends she is scared spitless. To top it off she is being paired with a Vampire. But when she meets Andries she is surprised to find out that he is anything like her father.
Andries agrees to marry Xandra but with the stipulation that she was not coerced even though it would mean losing his position with the Council. He doesn't expect to feel the attraction for his soon to be wife.
BONDS OF BLOOD was an epic ride from the beginning to the end. From the scorching love scenes to the scenes where they must fight whatever throws at them to remain together. I loved the fact that no matter what happened to them and a lot does that they never wavered in their devotion to each other.
I love vampire romances and Honor James creates characters that you love and those that you love to hate. In your mind (if you are reading in a public place) you will alternate between yelling oh no during a crisis or oh yeah for during the love scenes.
I also love it when there are marriage of convenience storylines where they go into the marriage thinking that their match is one that they will have to live with to one where they cannot live without each other.
If you have never read Honor James before than definitely get BONDS OF BLOOD you will be hooked and looking for Ms James' backlist.
